" I met Amy in 2018. Sharing a common passion (dancing!), we got off on the right foot from the word Go. I started in her group Pilates classes, joined the Barre classes and eventually moved to private sessions, adding the reformer. I incurred a sciatic nerve/hip injury at Zumba, which disrupted both my exercise routine, as well as, my everyday lifestyle quite severely. A series of to'ing and fro'ing commenced between physio and chiro; nothing brought relief and I was convinced I had messed up my hip for good. The chiro suggested I keep on doing my private lessons with Amy, the two of them consulted and Amy worked out our specialized program, focusing on my hip. After a few lessons, I could already feel my hip getting stronger and before long, I was back to my old self. Amy rehabilitated my hip. What sets Amy apart from the average Pilates instructor, is good ol' empathy, she listens to the facts, takes the entire context into consideration, thinks the details through, minds and understands sportsmanship and then takes very special care to get you back to what you love doing. I have the utmost respect for Amy and will (and have) gladly recommend her."

" I attended Pilates twice per week with Amy and I absolutely loved it! Amy is a great instructor who pays attention to detail and is patient with those she gives lessons to. I had struggled with back and neck spasms previously and I have seen a great improvement with that area since then. I am able to sleep better and not feel as lethargic as I used to before. I would highly recommend Amy as an instructor! She has since become a good friend of mine."

"I am a 71 year old woman with a very rough Medial History. My name is Ekaterine Fitzgerald, I have had three major open heart surgeries to replace valves. This was in 2004, 2011 and 2018. I started Pilates with Amy as an invalid, in the class for seniors. I was treated with such kindness and compassion, while at the time encouraging me all the way to keep trying. I can honestly say she has been a life saver. I can no do most of the exercises, except those involving my right hip, which is arthritic, I feel invigorated and motivated. Amy Wilkins is a really wonderful person, reliable and dedicated."

"I started doing Pilates almost three years ago, I took her on as my personal instructor doing private classes with her. She has been an incredible instructor and has taught me so much about my own body. I have become so much stronger and I am so grateful to her. When I started doing Pilates I had a lot of back pain and a hip injury from my pregnancy and she helped me so much with rehabilitation and strength that I feel so much stronger than what I felt three years ago! Amy pushed me more than I thought I could handle and without having her I would never have been able to do the things I can do now. She is patient and always listens. She communicates effectively and caters to the needs of an individual. She's both friendly and professional and takes enormous pride in what she does. I will forever be so grateful to her! Best instructor ever!!"

" I started working with Amy in August 2018. When I started my lessons with Amy I was extremely unfit, overweight and could barely do a roll-down. Amy suggested that I start private classes with her to strengthen my muscles and to learn the correct techniques when doing each exercise. During my first few lessons with Amy, she went very slowly through each exercise and made sud me in good re that I was doing each exercise correctly. She even did one whole session on teaching me how to hold my core muscles correctly. These initial lessons have stood me in good stead going forward with all my different forms of exercise. Even during my Rebound and tennis lessons I hear Amy's voice in my head advising me to hold my core, drop my shoulders and breathe deeply. The correct exercise an breathing techniques that I have learnt from Amy during my time with her have helped me in lessening my injuries and therefore reducing my time off from exercise. Amy has such a caring and gentle way about her. She listens when I have an injury and makes sure she has alternative exercises or positions available so that I don't injure myself any further. She takes the initiative during our class sessions to say 'Faye be careful of your shoulder/knee, etc' without making you feel like the 'odd one out' in the class.
Amy's routines are professional and work just about every muscle in your body. You feel stiff all over without feeling that awful injured, painful feeling. She puts a lot of thought into each lesson. Not only does she work every muscle group in our bodies but she always starts with a warm-up, stretches in-between and a cool-down at the end of each lesson. This helps with the stiffness and prevents injuries. Amy's bubbly personality, liveliness an enthusiasm for life makes her easy to get along with, and makes each session a joy to be a part of."
" I have been attending Pilates classes under Amy's instruction for the last two years. Her classes have been truly enjoyable. I have found Amy to be focused and very dedicated in all that she does. She is always on time and present during her classes. She is also very knowledgeable, passionate and genuinely interested in her client's individual needs. My body grew from strength to strength doing Pilates with Amy. I would highly recommend her services. Wishing her well and every success in all her future endeavors."

"Amy is very dedicated in her role as instructor. She does this with compassion, love and so much caring to help us seniors achieve what seemed impossible at the beginning of our journey with her. Amy started our Pilates class by teaching us the basics of Pilates, with much patience and has increased the level of difficulty as time passed. Our class also does circuit under Amy's watchful eye as she observes our movements. We have also done barre classes with her- much laughter and fun took place as we mastered the positions and movements. Amy takes interest in each lady and their body abilities and injuries or health conditions. She ensures she is up to date with this and advises an does exercises to help us overcome the problems. She gladly shares advise on medical conditions where she can. Her role as an instructor goes beyond just Pilates as she can easily talk and teach about the body and wellness. Amy is honest, of high integrity, reliable and a remarkable lady that has the ability to make myself and the other ladies feel capable to do the exercises and progress at the level we comfortable with. She is extremely observant during class and will adjust the exercise to suit each member's needs and ability. Amy always encourages and has been instrumental in growing confidence, strength of body and soul. Amy is remarkable lady who shares her love and self with all she meets. She is extremely focused. She strives to give her best always. Her enthusiasm, sense of humor and laughter flows over into all. "

"I didn't think I'd like Pilates, but during Lockdown I found myself joining in on Amy's weekly Pilates classes after Ballet (via Zoom). Lockdown has eased up and Amy is on another continent now, but our Pilates classes via Zoom continue, and they are such a good workout in the comfort of my small home! Amy is an excellent instructor and knowledgeable about what exercises to do/avoid depending on your body, injuries, and why you're doing it in the first place. Also: very good value for money! Highly recommend! (Also love her dogs/co-instructors!"

"My name is Dianne Finch, I was a principal dancer with PACT Ballet Company for seventeen years winning numerous South African Theater awards and working with many international choreographers and dancers. I retired and obtained my specialist majors teachers with the Royal Academy Of Ballet and have adjudicated and guest taught all over the country. Amy started her ballet training with me quite late and was not well trained. We worked hard and intensely for about four years and she had the ability to take correction and evolved into an intuitive dancer who understood her body and had a discipline and passion I rarely see. She has performed with the Johannesburg Youth Ballet and did well in her advanced 1. Due to an injury she started studying Pilates and qualified as an instructor adding her PBT training to that. As a Pilates teacher she has an in depth knowledge and intuition I cannot fault. On a personal level after a bad bicycle accident that tore my ACL cartilages and broke my tibia, she worked with me and the results for my well-being were remarkable. Amy is dedicated to her clients well-being and has a very special connection with them through her knowledge and care. I would recommend her services to anyone. In this day and age she is a rare commodity."
